Negin’s strengths-based, trauma-informed approach is rooted in psychodynamic and systemic therapy practices, which she supplements with CBT, DBT, and ACT techniques. She is also highly drawn to narrative therapy and the power of stories in helping clients make meaning of their lives. She avoids pathologizing people’s emotional pain and looks at the social contexts in which problems exist, using a person-first, culturally responsive lens that reinforces each client's unique experiences and strengths. Above all, Negin sees the therapeutic alliance as the most impactful clinical intervention with which to guide clients toward improved self-awareness, adaptability, and autonomy.

Negin has had the privilege of serving individuals across the lifespan who are navigating grief and loss, chronic illness, attachment wounds, addictions, personal and collective trauma, racial and sociocultural inequities, diasporic experiences, family dynamics, identity exploration, and career transitions. She has specialized training and experience in providing ethical and empathetic care to children, adolescents, and emerging adults with diverse identities and mental health concerns, including trauma-related conditions, anxiety and depressive disorders, personality and eating disorders, interpersonal conflicts, anger management difficulties, loneliness, and low self-esteem. Drawing from her professional background in child development and education, Negin helps young clients process emotions, strengthen coping skills, and redirect thoughts and behaviors. Whether meeting in person or virtually, she strives to create a safe and comfortable space that fosters attunement to each client’s unique needs.

Negin makes time every day to visit Lake Michigan, where she also often meets friends and fellow environmental advocates for shoreline cleanups. She enjoys spending quality time with her family, going for long walks around the city, stopping by neighborhood libraries, scoping out independent coffee shops and bookstores, and taking in exhibitions at the National Veterans Art Museum and the American Writers Museum. Her favorite writers include Charles Dickens, Langston Hughes, and Toni Morrison, whose work continues to compel her to learn about inherited, intergenerational trauma and embodied ways to move toward healing.
