Frequently asked questions.
What are the cost of services?
Our out of pocket rate is $250 per 60-minute session for individual therapy services with psychologists and $200 per 60-minute session for individual therapy with master’s level clinicians. Forensic services cost $250/session. Please ask us about costs for additional services (e.g., parent training and family therapy).
We offer a few sliding scale spots to those who may be eligible. Please ask us about this if you think you may need an alternative option to pay for services.
Can I use insurance to pay for services?
Absolutely! We are in network with BlueCross BlueShield PPO and Aetna. When you reach out to us for services, we will run a benefits check and communicate with you about what to expect regarding co-pays, deductibles, etc. so you can have full transparency about your estimated cost of services.
If you have a different insurance provider, we will provide you a superbill which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. All services must be paid upfront. While we are considered out of network with Cigna and United Health Care, many plans offer out of network benefits. Please contact us for more information.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
We ask for 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment, or you will be charged a late cancellation fee that is not billable to insurance. Though we understand that emergencies occur, life gets in the way, and it can be difficult to plan for everything, our policy ensures that our therapists are compensated for their time, which leads to less burn out, which leads to better therapy for you in the long-run.
How do I contact your billing department?
You can contact our billing department directly by emailing billing@northsidepsychology.org. They can assist you with information about your insurance benefits, credit card payments, and more.
How often will I need to see my therapist?
At the beginning of treatment, we recommend all clients meet with their provider at least once weekly. This allows for rapport to be built, goals to be set, and consistency to be established. Once treatment goals have been achieved, you and your therapist may decide to decrease your sessions to biweekly, monthly, or as needed.
What happens if my therapist and I are not the right fit?
Though rare, this can happen! Some therapists offer expertise for certain issues that may not align with what you need, or you may simply find that the two of you don’t connect. This is not a failure on either part. If you feel your therapist is not the right fit, the best thing to do is have a conversation about it. Your therapist can help you find another provider who may be a better fit for you. Our goal is always for our clients to receive the best care, whether that is from us or from another clinician.
