  • Katie places great importance on creating a safe, warm, and collaborative therapeutic environment for the individuals whom she serves. She strives to build a supportive and honest relationship with clients while maintaining patience, compassion, and humor. Katie understands that therapeutic change comes from focusing on an individuals’ needs while processing the impact of various ecological systems. She values working with both the client and their family to create goals, monitor progress, and champion their successes. Katie understands how feeling connected to others can empower individuals to take on life’s inevitable challenges. She aims to build a strong relationship with clients to increase self concept and foster healing and growth. Katie maintains a strength-based and resilience-focused lens while also utilizing interventions from CBT, DBT, ACT, and play therapy to meet the needs of the client. 

  • Katie has trained in a variety of settings including public, selective enrollment, and private schools, hospital outpatient, residential treatment programs, group practice, and clinical research. Katie’s training has included working with children, adolescents, young adults, parents, and family systems experiencing a variety of emotional and behavioral concerns. Katie’s experience has included helping those demonstrating symptoms associated with ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, school refusal, and self-esteem issues. She appreciates working with adults struggling with various challenges that impact overall well-being, such as difficulties in relationships or with self-concept. She works closely with parents to identify and change behavioral management strategies to improve parent-child relationships. 

  • Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending her time outdoors hiking, biking, playing sports, and taking her dog Ziggy to any patio that is dog friendly. On the weekends, Katie loves attending concerts, sporting events, comedy shows, and trying out different farmer’s markets and restaurants with friends. She appreciates learning about different cultures through traveling both outside of and around the country, and is always looking for a new book or documentary recommendation!
